The second episode of series 1 was mostly about immigration. It sought to contrast and compare the various ways that different immigrant groups and individuals interacted with both the residents of James Turner Street, and also the British welfare state. It specifically dealt with a group of Romanians who had been promised one set of conditions when they arrived in Britain, only to find a very different reality.
